Soffit and Fascia Repair in Blaine and the Twin Cities
Soffit and fascia are the parts of your roofline nobody thinks about until paint peels, squirrels move in, or ice dams show up two winters running. They do three jobs: ventilate your attic, hold up your gutters, and seal the roof edge against weather and pests. In Minnesota, the first job is the big one. Blocked or undersized soffit vents are behind a huge share of the ice dam damage we see across the north metro. Fixing the soffit is often the cheapest ice dam prevention money can buy.
What They Are, In Plain Terms
Soffit is the panel under your roof's overhang. Vented soffit pulls outside air into the attic, which keeps the roof deck cold, and a cold deck doesn't melt snow into ice dams.
Fascia is the board running along the roof edge that your gutters fasten to. When fascia rots, usually from overflowing gutters or ice backup, the gutters sag, then pull free, then take more wood with them. They fail together, and they should be fixed together.
Our Soffit and Fascia Services
Repair.
Cracked panels, holes, warping, pest entry points. We fix the damage and the moisture problem that caused it, repairing the symptom alone just schedules the next repair.
Replacement.
When rot or age has won, we replace soffit and fascia with materials built for this climate, typically aluminum or vinyl soffit and aluminum-wrapped fascia, which ends the repainting cycle for good. We match profiles and colors to your existing exterior so the new work disappears into the house.
Ventilation correction.
The high-value work: opening blocked soffit vents (insulation stuffed into the eaves is the usual culprit), adding intake where there isn't enough, and balancing it with ridge venting. If you've had ice dams or a baking-hot second floor, this is usually where the fix starts.
